After 1.5 years of staying away from one our favorite places to eat we finally returned with hopes for major improvements to service and the food.
First a little background here; Tripps was our #1 place to go and eat for 2 years. We knew to get there early to avoid the long lines of people wanting in for some great steaks and great service. Then something happened one night and the food was not cooked right and the service was terrible. We were confused we didn't believe this could happen, not at Tripps & certainly not so quickly. We proceeded to go back 4 more times, we were in complete denial, each time the service got worse and the food had to be sent back once 3 times before I just gave up and went home to eat. So we stopped going.
Last month while showing homes one of my clients said she had been going to a great place to eat and it was quickly becoming her favorite place to go. When she told me it was Tripps I was shocked and yet excited. Could it be? I told my husband and we had to go see for ourselves.
Last night we arrived at Tripps around 6:40 and we were promptly seated. The service was a bit slow but still an improvement. The timing from receiving Drinks, salad than the meal were not in sync like they use to be. In the past when you took the last bite of your salad your meal was arriving. Although lengthy waits in between items it was still not bad. The presentation was good the steaks were a little rare but not so much that we couldn't eat them. So all in all it was a pleasant meal.
Are they as good as they use to be? I don't think so but they are showing great signs of improvement and I hope they continue the trend and get back ontop of their game! I will go back with the hope of even more progress from them in the near future.
See you soon!
